Skales, born Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, first drew attention as a rap talent from Kaduna before signing to Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment in 2009, where he joined a roster that included Wizkid. He later shifted towards Afropop, building a sound that brings together catchy melodies, rhythmic production, and dance-ready hooks. His new single, “Leg in Leg Out (LILO),” turns the spotlight to the female form and the freedom of expressing yourself through dance.
Throughout the song, Skales admires every detail of the woman he is singing to, praising her back, waist, face, and “gbase” as works of art. Her movement leaves him visibly excited, as he urges her to whine, shake, and keep moving. The line “dirty wyner, shey na Oluwa design am” adds a playful sense of wonder, as he suggests that her dancing and physical beauty are gifts from above. His delivery keeps the lyrics lighthearted, letting admiration and attraction drive the song.
The chorus builds around the simple instruction “one leg in, one leg out,” turning it into a rhythmic call that listeners can follow on the dance floor. Rather than relying on a complicated message,
“Leg in Leg Out (LILO)” finds its appeal in movement, repetition, and the excitement of watching someone own the moment. Skales brings the focus back to the joy of dancing without restraint, making the track a lively invitation for anyone who enjoys the music, the energy, and the freedom of letting their body move to the beat.
