Promphizy, born Joel Pomack Dennis and also known as Yung Skizzy, is a Nigerian Afro-pop singer, songwriter, and creative director who began his journey in Jos before moving to Lagos to pursue his music career. Known for his versatile approach to sound, he describes his style as a “mixbreed of sounds,” combining infectious Afrobeats and Afrosounds rhythms with elements of trap-soul and R&B. His music reflects his willingness to explore different influences while staying connected to the experiences that have shaped him. His new single, “Good Times,” opens with a prayer for a better life and financial abundance, capturing the hopes of someone determined to move beyond hardship.

In “Good Times,” Promphizy bids farewell to difficult seasons and welcomes the life he has been working toward. He dreams of balling like Messi, driving a Benz, and making sure his mother never has to suffer, with the goal of owning a place he can truly call his own. His desire for financial freedom comes through in his plea for money to carry him to where the opportunities are.

Beneath these confident declarations is a personal motivation: he wants his success to change his circumstances and give his family greater comfort. The song turns familiar ambitions into a direct expression of hope, connecting the desire for wealth with the freedom and security it can provide.

“Good Times” is both a hustle anthem and a prayer for better days, built around the belief that persistence can lead to a different reality. It speaks to anyone working through difficult seasons, carrying big dreams, and holding on to the hope that their sacrifices will eventually bring the good life they have been praying for.
