OSANJO, born Stacy Osanjo, has developed a sound that moves between Afro-fusion, Afropop, Afro-folk, and acoustic rock. Drawing on warm acoustic instrumentation and contemporary African sounds, her music creates space for honest reflections on love, vulnerability, and personal experience. On her new single, “Open Your Eyes,” OSANJO confronts the pain of discovering that the man she loves has fallen for someone else, forcing her to reckon with the gap between the relationship she believed they shared and the reality before her.

The song unfolds as a heartfelt appeal to a man she believes is making the wrong choice. OSANJO urges him to open his eyes and recognise what he stands to lose, questioning how he could turn toward someone else when she believed she held such a special place in his life. His confession leaves her caught between disbelief and disappointment, especially because she had always thought she was the apple of his eye.

At the centre of “Open Your Eyes” is the tension between self-worth and lingering attachment. OSANJO understands herself as a strong, independent woman, someone who should be able to recognise when a relationship is no longer serving her and walk away. Yet emotions rarely follow logic so neatly. She can question his decision and stand firm in her sense of worth, but that does not erase the feelings she still carries.

With “Open Your Eyes,” OSANJO reminds the listener that heartbreak can challenge even the strongest sense of self, and that understanding your worth does not make the process of letting go any less human.
