The award-winning Liberian singer, actor, and businessman marks 10 years of legacy with a genre-blending, deeply personal body of work
Liberian superstar Cralorboi CIC, widely regarded as one of the country’s most influential
musical exports, commemorates a decade of artistic excellence with his long-awaited album,
Local Champion.
From the streets of Monrovia to selling out shows in Australia, CIC has consistently broken
barriers for his country and its sound. With over 15 awards, including Artist of the Year at the
Liberia Entertainment Awards (2020), he stands today as a symbol of homegrown pride,
resilience, and international ambition.
Across 14 tracks, Local Champion reflects the full spectrum of CIC’s journey. The project
opens on an emotional note with INTRO, a voice note from CIC’s parents and siblings offering
prayers and well wishes. He follows this with DON’T GIVE UP ON ME, a message of hope.
Romantic standout HEAVEN captures the warmth of true love with a soulful, wedding-day
intimacy, while FINE offers a bold and affirming message to plus-size women everywhere: you
are beautiful, just the way you are. Songs like CONGRATULATIONS and HAPPY (featuring
Liberian artist Stunn) burst with celebratory energy, as he reflects on years of hard work and
the victories that followed.
Tracks like PLEARJAY and AYY MEHN spotlight social themes and street energy, while
FVCK WITH IT, THICK (ft. Lyrical Joe), and DAHTOR (ft. Dremo) explore Afro-drill and cross-
border vibes.
CIC paints a complete picture of what it means to be a “local champion”, grounded in home,
but reaching beyond borders.
“This album is my story, my heart, my truth,” CIC shares. “I made this for Liberia,
for Africa, and for everyone who’s ever felt like they had to prove themselves
without losing where they come from.”
