Emo Grae has been one of Nigerian music’s most intriguing voices
A vocalist with an unmistakable tone, a gift for melody, and a knack for making emotionally charged records feel effortless, he arrived at a time when the industry was rapidly searching for a new generation of stars. Yet despite delivering standout records and earning the admiration of a loyal fan base, much of his story remained unwritten.
Until now.
With the announcement of Grae’s Anatomy, his forthcoming seven-track EP, Emo Grae enters a new phase of his career, one defined not by expectation, but by self-discovery. The project marks his first official body of work since exiting Marlian Music, the label that housed much of his formative years, and arrives as a powerful statement of artistic independence.
If the last chapter was about potential, Grae’s Anatomy is about identity. Across seven records, Emo Grae dissects the experiences, emotions, and lessons that have shaped him both as an artist and as a young man navigating fame, relationships, ambition, and personal growth. The project’s title is fitting; much like an anatomical study, it peels back layers to reveal the inner workings of the artist beneath the public persona.
The EP features the tracks “Youth,” “Fien,” “Fool For You,” “Gravity” featuring Bhadboi OML, “Your Type” featuring BNXN, “Combine,” and “LOL” featuring Zinoleesky.
Two records from the project have already offered listeners a glimpse into its world.
Released in December 2025, “Your Type” featuring BNXN reunited Emo Grae with one of Nigerian music’s most beloved voices. The collaboration carried additional significance for longtime fans, serving as a reminder of the chemistry that first captivated audiences during the pandemic era on “0903”, the cult-favourite collaboration that remains one of the most cherished records in both artists’ catalogues.

The project’s other standout single, “LOL” featuring Zinoleesky, feels equally symbolic. Beyond the music, the collaboration reunites two artists whose journeys were once closely intertwined under the Marlian Music banner. On record, however, the song transcends nostalgia, showcasing the growth of two artists who have each evolved significantly since their earliest days in the spotlight.
Nigerian music is currently experiencing an era where artists are increasingly reclaiming ownership of their narratives. Audiences are paying closer attention not just to the songs themselves, but to the stories behind them. In that context, Grae’s Anatomy feels less like a conventional EP release and more like a reintroduction.
It is the sound of an artist stepping away from the noise to define himself on his own terms.Known for his ability to blend Afrobeats, R&B, and emotionally rich songwriting into records that resonate deeply with listeners, Emo Grae has always possessed the tools required for longevity. What Grae’s Anatomy offers is clarity—a clearer sense of purpose, a clearer artistic vision, and a clearer understanding of who Emo Grae wants to be moving forward.
