NIGERIAN ARTIST FERANBANKS BALANCING LOVE AND SURVIVAL ON “STAY”

Feranbanks steps into the quiet ache of modern love with his new single “Stay”, a grounded
track that speaks to the tension between affection and survival. In a world where “love no dey
sweet if money no dey,” the song humanises it.

Feranbanks pleads with honesty: “O bomi lagun babe”, asking his partner for patience as he
grinds to build something real. He admits the harsh truth many feel but rarely say: “Nothing
dey give man joy, love no dey sweet if money no dey.” Yet within that reality, he offers
devotion, “At all of the girls, na you I choose”, and a promise wrapped in responsibility:
“Make I carry my body, owo la fin so oko obirin.” It’s about partnership, being a provider,
having dignity, and showing up even when the path is steep.

“Stay” resonates because it’s familiar. Feranbanks turns everyday pressure into poetry, crafting
a song that’s as much about loyalty as it is about the quiet courage it takes to keep going, for
yourself, and for someone else.
