BERRI-TIGA TURNS HEARTBREAK INTO HUMOR WITH NEW SINGLE “MISTAKE”

Berri-Tiga, born Agada Blessed Obotu, started sharing his voice online in 2016 with covers that
quickly caught attention. Since then, he’s built a catalogue of singles that speak plainly about
love, life, and lessons learned the hard way. His new track, “Mistake,” continues that tradition
with a wink, a sigh, and a clear message: some relationships are best left in the past.

“Mistake” opens with a confession: falling for the wrong girl was a costly error. What follows is a
streetwise, tongue-in-cheek reflection on a relationship full of drama, empty promises, and
emotional tolls. The hook, built around the word “Japa” (a Nigerian slang term for running away
or escaping), delivers the song’s core advice with playful urgency: when love turns into stress
and unpaid bills, it’s time to go.

In the second verse, Berri Tiga lists the red flags: beauty without sense, constant dissatisfaction,
and unnecessary chaos, before reaffirming his choice to walk away clean.

Set to a bright Afropop beat, the track balances humour with honesty. The production is light
and catchy, letting Berri Tiga’s conversational flow and sharp lyrics take centre stage.
By the outro, he lands on a familiar truth in Nigerian street parlance: “Love is sweet, but not
without money.” It’s not cynicism, it’s realism wrapped in rhythm.
“Mistake” celebrates the clarity that comes after.
