EAST MEETS WEST: BIEN TAPS PHYNO FOR AFRO-GOSPEL POWER REMIX

Bien has spent two decades shaping African music as the voice of Sauti Sol, one of the
continent’s most celebrated bands. After years of global recognition, a GRAMMY win, and
countless tours, he chose to embark on a solo journey. In 2023, he introduced fans to his own
voice with the debut album Alusa, Why Are You Topless?, setting a new course for his career.

In July, Bien released “All My Enemies Are Suffering,” a track that bridges Afro-Gospel and
celebratory Highlife. Bien now doubles down on that message by collaborating with Nigerian rap
star Phyno.

The collaboration bridges Kenya’s Afropop sound with Igbo rap, creating a song that feels both
deeply local and fully continental. Switching between English, Swahili, Luhya, and Igbo, the
lyrics are an unapologetic declaration of success.

Produced by Remy Baggins, the record fuses Afropop and highlife gospel. Built on warm
highlife guitar lines, deep bass, and live choral backing, it feels at home in a Sunday service or a
backyard party. Igbo percussion and call-and-response chants give the track a communal celebration. Phyno’s verse seals the track’s message: success is undeniable, and no amount of
resistance can stop it.
