BANKE KUKU LAUNCHES NEW COLLECTION

Banke Kuku is a British-Nigerian fashion designer celebrated for her bold prints, intricate textile work, and ability to translate cultural identity into wearable art. Her eponymous label blends heritage and innovation, creating collections that redefine what modern African luxury looks and feels like.

Her Eden and Oceans collections are more than fashion statements — they are visual love letters to Africa’s natural world and an urgent call for preservation. Eden draws from the lush richness of flora and fauna, celebrating Africa’s green spaces as sacred and worth protecting. Oceans, on the other hand, mirrors the fluidity and depth of the continent’s waters, highlighting the fragile beauty of marine life. Together, they speak to a deeper narrative — one where fashion becomes a vessel for sustainability, reminding African society of the value in preserving our ecosystems, embracing slow fashion, and honouring the stories that nature tells. Through locally crafted, low-waste pieces, Banke not only romanticises the environment but also inspires action to protect it.

The Summer Drop, her most recent collection is a bold fusion of two of the brand’s most iconic collections; Eden and Oceans. Inspired by nature’s textures, colors, and rhythm, the collection reimagines summer luxury through vibrant prints, fluid silhouettes, and sensual fabrics. From breezy kaftans and sheer mesh dresses to playful mini skirts and tailored co-ords, each piece is a celebration of freedom, femininity, and self-expression.

Fronted by Nollywood powerhouses Nancy Isime, Omowumi Dada, and Idia Aisien, the campaign celebrates the strength, elegance, and individuality of the modern African woman. It captures the essence of a summer of self — one defined by confidence, ease, and women showing up as their fullest, most radiant selves.

Also, as part of Banke’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the brand recently launched The Re-Green Project,  a bold initiative to plant 10,000 trees across Nigeria, reinforcing the designer’s belief that fashion can and should give back to the earth that inspires it.

The collection will be showcased in London from August 9th–16th at an exclusive Banke Kuku pop-up, marking a significant step in bringing the African luxury narrative to an international stage.
