BREAKOUT ARTISTE IN NIGERIA 2021

Nigeria has kept a track record of producing world-standard artists. This has been the culture over the past few years. One can thank the relentless effort of these artists who keep giving everything it takes to make every moment outstanding through their lyrics and unique studio beats to fit every mood of life. The Nigerian music industry has witnessed an array of talent in recent years and immense growth.  In 2021, many new talents joined the wave to write their names on a platter of gold in the Nigerian music industry. Here are some of the breakout talented artists in Nigeria in 2021. 

RUGER

This is a great artist here and his songs were on our lips for months making everyone scream BOUNCE THAT BOOTY. For some years, Ruger has been freestylying on instagram and waiting for the right moment he will be noticed and his PANDEMIC EP finally did that. He had his official unveiling under Jonzing World early this year with the debut single titled “One Shirt” featuring D’Prince and Rema.

JAYWILLZ

we can’t just take your eyes and ears away from Jaywilz’s lyrics and sounds. This songwriter captured the hearts of many Nigerians since his debut EP LOVE OF THE WORLD. Jaywilz has been standing tall since his contract with his record label; Chaado Music Worldwide, despite the competition among several other stars, MEDICINE created a space for him.

LOJAY

It’s no doubt many don’t know the face behind one of the biggest hit of 2021 MONALISA, some even believe it’s a female artist because of the voice texture. Lojay and Sarz released a joint  EP titled ‘LV NATTN’ featuring one of the most respected artists in Nigerian – Wizkid. Lojay has definitely captured the attention of Nigerians and we can wait to hear more of the bangers he has in store for us.

VICTONY

Mainland Block Party didn’t make a mistake when they decided to move to music and picked Victony as their artist to work with. Since Victony released his EP last year which brought him into the music limelight, This year has been a great year for the great artist even with the tragedy that happened, his song has not left the lips of Nigerians not to talk of his latest single with the mayor of Lagos HOLY FATHER which was number 1 for weeks on apple music. This is a versatile artist to watch out for in years to come.

FAVE

Just a few female artists break out into the music industry year after year, and this year, Fave is just the female artist to watch out for. Godsfavour Chidozie popularly known as Fave SZN convinced Nigerians that she’s got what it takes to compete with other big names with her talents after her verse on Jinmi Abdul’s free beat on twitter, she ten went on to release a track NBU which was widely accepted. Fave dropped a new single recently which has taken tik tok by storm rising to top 5 on Nigeria’s apple music and number 1 on Ghana’s chart. 

DAI VERSE

Dai verse began gaining attention from people from his COCAINE track that was released in 2020. Isn’t it funny how a song you released after some time begins to hit organically after you’ve forgotten about it and dropped new tracks. He began his career in 2019 with freestyle videos on different social media platforms. Ever since the release of this track, he has gone ahead to offer what meets the expectations of his fans. In 2020, Dai verse was featured by Hugo in his Colorado track which was also known widely by music lovers.

MAGIXX

After shooting Rema to fame as one of Marvin’s acts, the record label has come up with another fast-rising star that will rock the music industry. Signed to MBN record label in 2015, Magixx has seen a shot to the limelight. Three years later, he released his debut single titled “Mirror” under the same record label. His 2021 cover of the hit record “Sinner” by Adekunle Gold got people’s attention with more than 43,000 views online. He was signed into Mavin Records in 2021.

ZEALOT

SALOMY SALOME….. LOL, if you are a regular instagram user you will definitely know this tune and It is no news that Zealot is making waves around the Nigerian music industry since he Signed into JBL Entertainment.He released his EP “Never left”.  The single, however, has been an insight for people to have an idea of the stuff Zealot is made of. 

JAMOPYPER

Your playlists may seem incomplete if you miss out on Zanku’s record label signee. Jamopyper has carved a niche for himself in his singing and has featured in different tracks. His hit track “If no be you,” featuring the DMW star Mayorkun, caught the attention of Nigerians, which assured the Nigerian music industry of the new fast-rising star Jamopyper and what he would be in a few years. The song has gone viral since its official release.
