Young Jonn has never been one to make music that simply sits still. On “Let It Go,” the Nigerian hitmaker takes the carefree energy sampling “Guao Guao” by Micro TDH and Ovy On The Drums to create a record built around movement, spontaneity and the simple decision to stop overthinking and enjoy the moment.
Originally released in 2025, “Guao Guao” brought together Venezuelan artist Micro TDH and Colombian producer Ovy On The Drums around a Latin-inspired sound designed to embody the philosophy of living with more energy, more spontaneity and fewer constraints. “Let It Go” carries that same spirit forward, but speaks it in Young Jonn’s language. With “Let It Go,” that instinct meets the world of “Guao Guao.” The sample acts as a sonic thread between two cultures and two moments, while Young Jonn reshapes the record around his own musical identity. It is a global idea translated locally: the Latin vibe becomes an Afrobeats groove, built around spontaneity and finds a new expression in Nigeria’s own culture of movement, nightlife and togetherness.
At the centre of the record is Young Jonn’s ability to make everyday moments feel larger than life. “Let It
Go” is for the nights when plans become spontaneous, when the group chat becomes an actual outing,
when Lagos traffic becomes part of the story and when tomorrow’s problems can wait until tomorrow.
